Planning Is Also About Paying Attention

Lately, I've been thinking about planning a little differently.

I used to think it was mostly about staying organized. Remembering appointments. Keeping track of projects. Making sure that nothing falls through the cracks.

It still does all of that.

But every now and then, I think to myself, “Is this all planning is? Transferring my to-dos and stress onto paper?”

It feels a little passive, like I'm simply reacting to whatever life is throwing at me.

What if planning is more than writing down expectations? What if it's also a chance to decide what deserves my attention before the day begins asking for it?

That question was at the back of my mind while I was working on the 2027 collection.

The Yearly Planner gives us a chance to think about the year we want to shape before it fills up.

The Overview page in the Monthly Planner helps us pause before the month gets busy, so we can get clear on what matters and what we want to protect.

The Weekly and Daily pages are places we can insert our intentions amongst the expectations and demands before we live those days.

"What delighted me today?" is a daily question I hope stays somewhere in the back of our minds as we move through the day, noticing the little details that tickle us a bit and bring a smile to our souls.

I still want my planner to help me stay organized. I don't think that'll ever change. But I also want it to remind me that my days are more than a collection of tasks and appointments.

Maybe that's what planning has become for me.

Not just a place to keep my life organized, but also a place where I intentionally shape each day because these ordinary days and moments make up our lives. These lived days are our lives.

If you're planning for 2027, I'd love for these pages to become part of your year :)
